Activities and sports like soccer, netball, hockey, gymnastics, scouts, dance, etc are all great activities.
Swimming lessons however are categorised differently. Swimming is a life skill and non-negotiable. You will be exposed to water, pools, lakes, rivers and oceans, and not having basic swimming skills and confidence around water will hold you back, or could be potentially deadly. You need basic swimming skills to survive in water and not be nervous or fearful around water.
Apply that same principle to martial arts. They have the benefits of other activities and sports, but martial arts also teaches self defence which is an essential life skill. In your lifetime you will most likely come across the threat of violence, often unavoidably and no fault of your own.
When you are attacked without proper training and technique you will panic, thrash and most likely drown. You do swimming lessons to prepare you to be in water without fear and tread water if you get in over your head. The day you are confronted with violence or by a bully, have you acquired the tools and confidence to stay calm, protect yourself and survive or have you fallen in the deep end.

balanced martial artists and instructors by introducing more advanced
techniques from taekwondo and other styles of martial art

Your instruction will include all aspects of the traditional martial art of taekwondo and self defence skills. We instruct a system of symmetrical body exercises, techniques and patterns, designed for self defence and counterattack, making use of the hands and feet as defence. Our classes are designed to equip you in the skillful application of hand and feet techniques, punching, jumping, kicking, blocking, and sparring actions (non-contact); directed towards neutralising and aggressor.
